I am an actively involved member of my community

I am a former teacher with seven years of experience in upper elementary grades.
My husband and I moved here 21 years ago and our three children graduated from Orange Unified schools. 

Since 1985,  I have been actively involved in school-related organizations such as PTA, the OUSD Legislative Coalition, and other parent groups.  I continue to serve in PTA at school district, county and state levels.  As a businesswoman, I directed Leadership Orange for the Orange Chamber of Commerce for six years.

I take my job as a school district trustee very seriously

I carefully study the issues and get as much information as possible before making decisions.  I vote my conscience, based on what I believe is best for the students of our district, even when my position is not popular.  I am actively involved in all school board activities.

I have visited every Orange Unified school many times.  I love attending Back to School Nights and Open Houses, where I can visit classrooms and talk to teachers and parents.  I go to student events such as science fairs, drama and musical performances, and sporting events.  During the school day, I spend time in teacher lounges so that I can listen to the concerns of teachers and staff.
